How to Prepare Jasmine Rice

Rinse rice thoroughly (usually about 1.5 cups, e.g. large coffee cup full)

The 5min-5min-10min method

(Boil water 5min — cook rice 5min — let steam 10-12min)

  1. 2:1 water:rice mixture
  2. Boil 2 units of water about 5 min
  3. Stir in 1 unit of rice
  4. Boil about 5 min until steam holes develop (may need an extra min or so)
  5. ADD 1/2 teaspoon SALT (easy, so can add soy sauce at the table if desired)
  6. Cook about 10-12 min
  7. Check and stir to cool it off so it doesn't keep cooking
