How to Prepare WILD Rice 

  1. Rinse well 1 cup/part brown rice in a small pot; drain
  2. In the same pot, add 2 cups/parts water
  3. Add FINE salt (1/4 teaspoon; can add soy sauce at the table
  4. Option: add a tiny bit of butter
  5. Heat together until boiling (about 5 minutes)
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat (45-60 minutes)
  7. Uncover and shake pot to loosen rice from bottom and so that it remains a little grainy, not clumpy
  8. Serve with a stir fry topping or in a soup with carrots, celery, onions, and chicken
